Pitrone No-Hits Glocester

Strikes Out 11 in Tight Fall Ball Win

UpdatedTuesday October 18, 2016 byKeith Greene.

On a rainy Saturday in October, Joey Pitrone III no hit the Glocester Juniors team in a nail bitter 1-0 win. Pitrone struck out 11 of the 16 batters he faced, and missed a perfect game when he walked one batter on a close 3-2 call. The only run in the game was scored in the first inning when Smithfield leadoff batter Tommy Sheppard tripled and scored on Ryan Dyer’s sacrifice fly to right/center. Joey was also helped out defensively on the way by a diving catch by centerfielder Sam Greene in the second, and strong work behind the plate by Pitrone’s battery mate for the game Ryan Dyer. Congratulations to JPIII!
