Player Skill Evaluations on March 20

UpdatedFriday March 19, 2021 byStan Dorsey.

Smithfield Little League will host its annual Skills Evaluation on Saturday, March 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Wide World of Indoor Sports in North Smithfield with several safety protocols in place. The skills evaluation provides critical data so managers may draft balanced teams. The schedule is as follows:

  • 11 to 12-year-old players, 9 to 11 a.m.
  • 8 to 9-year-old players, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • 10-year-old players and late arrivals, 1 to 3 p.m.

Please arrive as close to the start time as possible for your child’s age time slot.

Players should bring their gloves, must wear a mask and a protective cup. (Please do not have them wear cleats.) We encourage all players of each age group to participate, especially if they want to make the leap from minors to AAA or AAA to majors. (Players may not compete in a higher division unless they attend the Skills Evaluation.)

If your player cannot attend the Skills Evaluation, or you are not comfortable with him/her participating, please contact Guytano Aglione, the league’s player agent.
